Community engagement and delivering social value, in person and hands-on
We have recently delivered a beginners Tai Chi class in the community. Tai Chi is a low cost, low hassle, low impact exercise. It is just the thing If you can no longer move as a hard and fast as you once could, or you don't want to show off in the gym. Another big benefit of the steady mindful movements and breath control is relaxation.
But don't be fooled by the slow moves. There is a long sequence to learn with tests of balance and concentration. For the brave and bold this is the foundations of a functioning martial art, for others it is good reason to get out and learn something new.
The benefits of Tai Chi for both physical and mental wellbeing are well established. With problems from our sedentary lifestyles and stress times, this is a good option for exercise and relaxation.
